Thermal Springs and Spa
The area has several thermal springs which claim to help cure various conditions including skin disorders and Rheumatism.

Vernet-les-Bains
Vernet les Bains is one of the nearest Spa's to our Gite.
Vernet les Bains spa welcomes both adults and children. It offers treatments for an extensive range of conditions including Rheumatoid arthritis, Rheumatic inflammation, respiratory ailments, ear, nose and throat. The treatments are under the supervision of qualified doctors.

St. Thomas-les-Bains
To our west, towards Font-Romeu, and close to Fontpédrouse on the N116 there is St Thomas les Bains.

It has natural warm sulphuric, alkaline waters that surface at 58°C. There are 3 outside sulphur pools with bubble jets which are used all year round. A key attraction is the amphitheatre shaped solarium in the mountain. It is open every day from 10 am to 8 pm, and in July and August until 9pm.
It is normally closed for a few days during November.

Andorra
At the Roc del Metge in Escaldes-Engordany the thermal springs surface at a temperature of 70°C. The waters are said to be especially suitable for treating rheumatism and skin disorders.

Andorra - Caldea
The principality of Andorra has the largest health spa in Europe at Escaldes-Engordany. Caldea's luxurious health spa facilities include indoor and outdoor lagoons, roman baths and hydro massage pools. An extensive range of treatments are offered in this very modern setting. Entrance to Caldea costs €26.00 for a 3 hour adult daytime visit.

Boulou
About 25 minutes drive from Rodes, and to the east of Amelie and Ceret, on the A9, just north of the Spanish border there is Boulou. It claims to be the only spa in the region with bi-carbonated water, and is open from February to November.

Molitg-les-Bains
The biggest, and most expensive, thermal spring in the area is at the hotel Molitg les Bains. The waters are said to be rich in active plankton and they claim it treats respiratory tract ailments.
